1.) Invest in Wireless

Wires are one of the most annoying parts about electronics. Although you don’t have to necessarily go out and buy all new electronics, when it’s time to buy, think about wireless. Laptops are much more convenient than desktops, and new ones are just as powerful. Wireless modems also make it more convenient to use your electronics anywhere in the house. Bluetooth headphones and wireless printers are upgrades that limit the amount of cords for you to trip on throughout your home.

2.) Buy a Charging Station

Even those wireless electronics need to be charged. Charging stations make it easy and convenient to keep all your cords in one place, without having cords plugged in all over your home. You can even buy charging stations that match the décor of your home, so that they are both functional and look good. Consider putting a charging station both upstairs and downstairs, or in both your bedroom and home office. That way it’s convenient and you have your electronics close when you need them.

3.) Use Hooks

You would be surprised how many electronics you can hang with different types of wall hooks. Place a wall hook by your computer to hang your Bluetooth headphones so they are easily accessible when you need them. You can also position wall hooks in your kitchen to hang your iPad if you want to watch a movie while you cook or reference a recipe. You can even use wall hooks to hang your cellphone by your bed for easy access or to prevent losing your cellphone in your covers.

4.) Hide or Disguise Cords

Even if most of your electronics are wireless, you still are bound to have cords throughout your home. Luckily, there are cute and clever ways to either hide or disguise your cords. Wrap your cord with ribbon or rope if there is no way to hide it behind something else. Twisty ties are also a cheap way to keep your cords together so they don’t get tangled and you can keep them out of the way.

5.) Organize Manuals

Stuffing manuals into drawers creates a mess and makes it difficult to find the manual if or when you need to reference it. Manuals are a necessary evil for your electronics, and the second you throw one away is right when you need it. A three-ring binder is a simple solution. Either use a three-hole bunch to add each manual into the binder, or slip each manual into a plastic sheet.

You don’t have to completely hide your electronics when they are not in use. These tricks make it easy to have them when you need them, but out of the way when you don’t. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to keep your electronics organized while they are in your home.
