Music is one of my favorite things in the world. Yes, that’s a pretty strong statement. I’ve always loved to discover new bands and songs, as well as stick with the oldies but goodies. There’s just something about music that can lift up the spirits, brighten the mood, and bring on the emotions.
I usually find myself to be the most productive when I have the windows open and the music on. With the fresh air coming through the window and the tunes playing from my computer, I’m instantly put into a mood of relaxation and motivation. Wait, isn’t that an oxymoron? Anyway, that’s what music does to my mood. It invigorates, relaxes, and motivates my whole being.
Lately, I’ve started to notice a trend that was hard to ignore. Why? Because it was coming from within me.
I was on a conference call one day that lasted a few hours. After hopping off the call, I turned on my music to keep me motivated throughout the rest of the day. And then that’s when it happened. Someone else was enjoying the sounds with me. Who was that other person? Nugget, of course. A sense of happiness washed over me and I couldn’t help but smile and laugh … and turn up the music.
The next day, when I sat down to work on my computer, I turned on the music and all of a sudden, I was introduced to Nugget’s dance party.
The next day, more music, more dancing.
See the trend?
The other night, my husband and I decided to watch a movie. A lot of the music that I listen to while working was played throughout the movie. About halfway through the movie, I couldn’t help but grab my husband’s hand and put it on my stomach. The kicks were incredibly strong and I wanted my husband to feel the joy of our baby as he/she danced to the beautiful sounds.
For the remainder of the movie, we took in all of the sights, sounds, and stories all while feeling our baby dance to the music. The kicks were strong, the music was enjoyable, and the moment was unforgettable. Watching a movie, listening to music, and feeling our baby kick together … it was one of my favorite moments spent with my husband and our baby.
I love this baby and his/her love for all things music. I cannot wait to see the delight on our baby’s face the moment music is heard and enjoyed.
