When I think of blueberries, I can’t help but think of my husband. He loves blueberry pancakes, smoothies, treats … you name it, and if it’s filled with blueberries, he will love it. There’s just something about these flavorful little gems that peak his interest and satisfy his tastebuds. This is just one of the many things I have learned about my husband over the years.
How many years exactly? I’ve known this great guy of mine for eight years. It all started in the kitchen of the house that I lived in my senior year of college. Little did I know that our encounter in my kitchen would lead me to years of love, support, understanding, and guidance.
As we approach our fifth wedding anniversary next week, I can’t help but look back on all of the times that we have shared together, as well as how much we have grown to love and understand each other. To me, it’s so hard to believe that we are approaching our fifth wedding anniversary. As they say, the time sure does fly by when you’re having fun … and fun we have had.
From quiet nights spent at home to trips that have helped to create ever-lasting memories, from sporting events to wine tasting excursions, from living in tiny spaces to moving to a new city, from struggling through fertility to expecting a baby at the end of this year … he has always been there through the ups and down, laughter and tears, smiles and frowns.
He just gets me. For that, I am forever grateful. Without having him in my life, I’m not exactly sure where I would be or who I would be. He is my soulmate, my best friend, and the person I’m so happy entered my life at that exact moment in college house kitchen. For, it is that person who I get to spend the rest of my life with and I could not be more thankful.
As we get ready to welcome massive changes into our lives, I know that he will always be there for me and our soon-to-be family to love, support, and grow with each and every day.
