Are you wearing green today? Yes, it’s finally that day of the year. The day where you can wear green, crack open a beer (responsibly, of course), embrace your Irish roots (or non-Irish roots … because, let’s face it, everyone loves this day), and celebrate one of the best days of the year. It’s St. Patrick’s Day. What are you doing to celebrate?
I remember when I was in elementary school, all of the girls would wear festive tights, socks, shorts, shirts, and headbands … all in various forms and shades of green and white. As I grew up, we slowly ditched the tights and socks but held onto the shirts and headbands.
And then, of course, there were the college days when everyone was Irish (whether they had Irish roots or not) and excitedly and voluntarily woke up before the sun came up only to wait in line for the best bar in order to enjoy glass after glass of green beer. So festive. Oh, those were the days.
What does my St. Patrick’s Day look like today?
We’re looking forward to enjoying corned beef and cabbage, a few bites (most likely slices) of this Mint Chocolate Cake, and a celebratory cocktail with neighbors. That’s what I call a perfect St. Patrick’s Day.
You can grab the recipe for this cake at Butterlust. I recently fell in love with this blog thanks to spending time on Pinterest.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
