In celebration of Easter this year, my sister-in-law thought of the perfect Easter egg hunt for my son. Why was it perfect? It involved blueberries. And let me tell you … my son is completely obsessed with blueberries. Instead of filling the plastic eggs with candy, she filled them with blueberries and then hid them around the house. Seriously … genius.
Confused at first as to what to do, as soon as he caught on that the eggs were filled with his favorite food, he cruised around the house looking for the next blueberry surprise. I watched as my sister-in-law and son went on a blueberry surprise egg hunt throughout our house. Plastic egg after plastic egg, he opened, devoured, and kept moving on to the next surprise.
Keeping old family traditions and creating new family traditions is just one of the many aspects of parenthood that I absolutely love. This blueberry surprise egg hunt is definitely a tradition that will stick around for years to come.
I hope that all of you had a wonderful, memorable Easter.
What’s your favorite Easter tradition?
