Welcome to the new section on the site, 15 Questions, which highlights small businesses doing big things. Having always worked for small businesses, I’m all about spreading the word about the great work that so many small businesses are doing. From goods to services, the people behind small businesses are full of hard work, determination, creativity, drive, and passion. They also love to help simplify things for people. What’s not to love? So, we’ll be featuring really great small businesses that fit in line with helping people simplify.
So, who’s up first?
If you didn’t know, I was born and raised in Michigan. I went to Michigan State University. I met my husband in Michigan. He was born and raised in Michigan. We started our life together in Michigan. Our families are both still in Michigan. Although we don’t live in Michigan now, we try to visit as often as possible.
You guys. I love Michigan. If you’ve never been to Michigan, I promise you’ll love your visit whenever you go. The small towns, Coney Islands, lakes, summers, winters, beaches, sand dunes, boating … the list can go on and on. The state of Michigan is full of so much beauty.
Do you know who else loves Michigan? A small business that goes by the name of Bundled. The founders are passionate about their business and about their state. Their products are incredibly unique. Their love of the state is strong. Their work ethic is all about the hustle.

Who are the founders and how did they meet?
Courtney Taylor and Chelsea Gheesling of Chick in the Mitt, a Michigan lifestyle blog, have teamed up with Michael Haddad of Detroit Grooming Company, a Detroit- based grooming company, to help spread the word about all the wonderful and quality products that Michigan small businesses have to offer. Their love for Michigan brought them together and their small business background and passion for giving back led them to develop Bundled.
What is Bundled?
Bundled has searched Michigan for the best products it has to offer and bundled them into themed and customized gift bundles. All of our items are made by small businesses in Michigan and our goal is to give you a chance to try an assortment of products to see what you love. Our themed bundles make the perfect gift for any occasion or a great treat for yourself. With a catalog of over 30 products, our customized option is perfect for corporations, real estate agencies, events, bridal parties, or anyone who may want to order in bulk.
What do you love most about Michigan?
Everything. Seriously, what’s not to love? Lakes. Summer. The changing of seasons. Mackinac Island. Watching Detroit revitalize itself. Coney Islands. The UP. The Great Lakes. And of course, all the fabulous products made by small business owners.
What does Bundle simplify for people?

What kind of products do you offer?
We currently have a number of themes, including a bundle for babies, ladies, men, the Michigan lover, and one to send for a celebration, each including 5-6 handmade items. We are always introducing new themes based on our customer feedback!
We also offer the option of customizing a bundle (with a minimum order of 10). We have partnered with General Motors, a local nonprofit, Fleece and Thank You, and a number of Michigan real estate agents to help them create a bulk order of bundles that fits their specific need.
How do you find these products?
We have searched our state and tried every product deciding upon what we find to be the best. We also think that we have partnered with some of the coolest small business owners.
Why do you love to support small businesses in Michigan?
We love people who love what they do. No one works harder than small business owners. The passion and pride in creating quality products is what attracts us to the fabulous businesses we have partnered with.

How does your company give back?
Through a partnership with Services to Enhance Potential (STEP), a Wayne County nonprofit that services individuals with disabilities, we have been able to employ adults with disabilities in our very own community to assemble our Bundles! By purchasing a bundle, you are helping us to provide our STEP team with hands-on job training and paid employment to help them reach their life goals.
What future plans do you have for Bundled?
We have BIG plans for Bundled. We are anxious to grow and have the opportunity to employ more adults with disabilities. In addition, we are piloting a co-working space with our partner, Services to Enhance Potential. We are moving our office into the nonprofit’s Northwest Resource Center allowing for integration and an increase of job opportunities for the adults with disabilities who work there.
What’s your favorite small business tip for people who are starting or running their own small business?
Hustle. One of our favorite quotes by the great Oprah is: “Do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do.”
For people visiting Michigan, what’s your best travel advice?
Oh, that’s a hard one! We would say research and discover as much as you can. Michigan has a lot of hidden gems, beautiful cities and towns, and amazing lakes!
What are some of your favorite spots in Michigan?
We love exploring Detroit. A new spot opens up just about every day. The entrepreneurial spirit is inspiring!
Outside of work, what do you love to do?
We love to eat, drink, and explore our great state.
What makes Michigan a great state?
Other than the fact that we have it all? The people. We are a state of passion. Michiganders are Michigan proud and it shows.
