My husband and I are craving a little trip. We want to go somewhere as an escape, just the two of us. Other than traveling to Michigan to see family and friends or going to the lake house which is a few hours away, we haven’t been on a vacation in years.
The other night while we were enjoying wine on the couch, I looked at him and said, “You know what. Let’s go to New York. You’ve never been and it’s only a few hours away.” He agreed to it and we’ve marked the calendar.
I’ve been to New York on many occasions for work-related trips. From bouncing around buildings as I’m in-and-0ut of meetings to hanging out with blogger friends to attending fashion week, my work trips to New York are heavily fueled by coffee, super quick, and full of very little sleep. Even though I try and squeeze in as many city sights as possible, I hardly ever have time to truly enjoy the city.
So, in a few weeks, our in-laws are going to watch our son and dogs as we hop on a bus, head to the city, and explore for a few days.

Favorite Things to Do in NYC
Since my husband has never been to the city, I want to give him a good introduction. I also want to eat amazing food, enjoy amazing wine, and see amazing sights.
Some of the sights that are currently topping my list (in alphabetical order):
- 9/11 Memorial
- Brooklyn Bridge
- Central Park
- Eataly
- Empire State Building
- Grand Central Terminal
- The High Line
- The Statue of Liberty
- Times Square
- Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center)
I also would love to squeeze in a show. But, which one? There are so many options!
I have some questions and am seeking help:
- Do you love NYC?
- What are your favorite spots?
- Do you have any ideas for use during our two-night stay?
- Where are your favorite places to eat?
- What show should we see and why?
Please share in the comments.
