I love cooking shows. In fact, I have the Foot Network on the television as background noise while I type this post. So, one could only imagine that I have a favorite celebrity chef.
Here are clues:
#1. The celebrity chef is a female.
#2. The celebrity chef loves simplicity, good ingredients, and basic recipes.
#3. She has a husband named Jeffrey.
Give up or know who she is.
It’s Ina Garten. Oh man, do I love Ina Garten and everything she does in the kitchen.
Why do I love her? First of all, I want to live in her house. Second of all, her food is simple yet delicious. Why do I know that? Because I have three of her cookbooks and all of the recipes that I have prepared to date have been simple and delicious. Third of all, she is all about teaching people how to prepare simple yet delicious recipes.
Oh, and her old store, Barefoot Contessa, was featured in one of my favorite movies, Something’s Gotta Give. So, there’s that too.
Her style (cooking, entertaining, and decor) are right up my alley. She loves good, simple food. She loves white plates and serving dishes. She loves simple decor. She is all about simplicity, as am I. I feel like she’s a perfect fit as my favorite celebrity chef.
So, I’m asking you …
Who is your favorite celebrity chef?
Tandy says
I love Jamie Oliver for those exact same reasons: he’s all about fresh ingredients and making food that’s not too fussy. I love Guy Fieri because he uses such bold flavours. But my ultimate favourite is Donna Hay. Honestly, she is my food and styling hero. Also, I’ve probably watched Something’s gotta give about 70 times because I love the kitchen and decor so much. Plus Diane Keaton is everything :-)
