Friday Find: 15 Must-Have Beach Essentials

The temperature is hot, hot, hot. And the humidity is muggy, muggy, muggy. So, how can you cool down in this summer heat? Head to the beach (or pool or lake … whatever makes sense for where you live). A day spent in, near, or on the water can be such a great time to connect with friends, relax, let the kiddos release some energy, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

When we first moved to the area, everyone used to say, “We’re going to the beach this weekend.” Now, having grown up in southern Michigan, we always went to the lake. We practically lived on the lake. Now that we live in an area where there aren’t that many lakes, people “go to the beach.” I always wanted to know what this “magical” beach was all about. Little did I know that there are so many beaches in the area that are just a short drive away.

So, if you’re heading to the beach during an upcoming weekend, be sure to grab some of these 15 must-have beach essentials to make sure you are practicing safety (apply that SPF!), having fun (hello, beach games!), and staying comfortable (gotta love a good swimsuit and cover-up). Oh, and don’t forget to charge your phone and/or camera so that you can snap some photos of the fun times you have at the beach.
