At 24 weeks of pregnancy, the clothes are starting to get a bit on the tight side. My jeans and shorts no longer fit, my shirts are feeling stretched, and my flowy dresses are starting to make an appearance.
During my first pregnancy, I was all about form-fitting outfits. From racerback tank tops to maternity skinny jeans, I loved the feeling of tighter clothes around my bump.
This pregnancy? Well, it’s a whole different story. I feel like my bump appeared overnight and it was huge … along with *ahem* other aspects of my body. Everything seemed to pop so early during the second pregnancy. It’s as if my body was like “been there, done that, ready to go” and go it went … as in, expansion.
I’ve been feeling a bit on the bumpy side lately so the other weekend I set out to find cute maternity clothes to help me start feeling great again. After going to a few stores, I quickly realized that if I wanted cute maternity clothing, I would have to shop online. I was told by numerous sales people that I could only find the store’s maternity section online.
Talk about frustration. All I wanted was to purchase a few clothing items that helped me rock my bump in a comfortable, flowy way. Yes, this pregnancy is all about flowiness … is that even a word?
I only want a few items since I do have some pieces from my first pregnancy. Plus, I already have flowy shirts in my closet since I love the look and feel of them, even prior to my second pregnancy.
So, I grabbed a few non-maternity tank tops that I knew would fit my bump during the remainder of the summer. I tried on my old maternity skinny jeans when I returned home and did a happy dance when they fit. And then I spent some time online trying to find a few cute maternity clothing pieces that I know I would love to wear during this pregnancy.
