1.) Create a Morning Routine
Routines help keep schedules organized, maintained, and set. Yes, there are some things that might happen to throw a wrench into the system. But, for the most part, our morning routines are the same day in and day out. Mornings can be a time to wake up, reflect, enjoy coffee, get ready for the day, journal, and wrap your mind around what you need to accomplish.
2.) Make the Bed
By making your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. One of your first feelings of the day will be a sense of accomplishment and pride. From there, your body will be encouraged and driven to make more accomplishments throughout the day. What’s not to love about starting your day off on the right foot?
By implementing bed making into your daily morning routine, you are bound to discover just how much this one small task will make you happier. This healthy feeling will then encourage you to create more healthy habits throughout your daily routine that will help you maintain a happy and healthy home.
3.) Drink More Water
I heard that starting your day off with water is the perfect way to start the day. What did I usually do? I sat down to have cereal with fruit with my toddler. I drank the remaining milk in the bowl and quickly moved on to a cup of coffee. Hours went by before I even thought about having a sip of water. Before I knew it, it was the end of the day and I would take a few sips of water before heading to bed.

Staying cooped up indoors all day every day is not healthy for a body. Find easy ways to escape outside and get fresh air. Be more intentional about getting outside.

It’s so easy to let life’s simply joys and pleasures slip by because we are too busy, too tired, too pulled-in-too-many-directions. But, life is full of simple joy. For me, when my husband and son are playing together, I always make sure to stop and take either a physical or mental photo. I never want those moments to pass by. It’s those photos that bring me so much joy, especially during difficult days.

I’m a workaholic at heart. For me, it’s super tough to turn off work. Before we had our son, I would easily put in 80 hour work weeks. When our son arrived, I had a mental shift. All of a sudden, I found it a bit easier to turn off work and spend more quality time with my little family. It’s important to find a work-life balance.
